[PICTURES] TRAGIC THURSDAY

The Nigerian Police is at it again, trying to arrest an okada man but eventually left a lot of damages and casualties in Abeokuta Expressway.
About 10.48AM, today (6th June, 2013), there was an accident which claimed lots of lives. There was great pandemonium by the time our team arrived at the scene of the accident but the LASMA in conjunction with Nigeria Police Force were able to bring peace and order to passersby. The accident involved a long vehicle with double containers and an Eko meat van that let four people dead (including a SLOT official) and lots of casualties.
According to an eyewitness who decided to remain anonymous said, "An okada man was heading towards oshodi and on sighting a police van, he decided to cross over the other side by climbing the pavement in between the express roads and headed back to Agege. The police also pursue after him with their van by also crossing over the pavement without watching the traffic on the other side. The long vehicle trying not to hit the police van, suaved and smashed the Eko van and killed two people in the van instantly but the other people among those standing by the road side waiting for vehicle also died afterwards”.
“Though, after the incident, Lagos state Ambulance came and moved the casualties and injured ones to Lagos State Teaching Hospital but some other people are still trapped under the long vehicle”. He concluded.
It took us about 20 minutes before been allowed into the scene because lots of people were barred from entering. But eventually after every where is cleared we were granted entry as Pressmen.
