THERE IS A DARK CLOUD OF DISTRUST IN SANUSI LAMIDO SANUSI'S SUSPENSION - OBY EZEKWESILI

By Oduwaiye Fela

Reactions have started pouring in over the controversial suspension of the Central Bank Governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. In her usual candour and stand with the truth, former World Bank Vice President (Africa) stated that Sanusi Lamido Sanusi’s suspension puts the government in a position where its intolerance for accountability comes through. Using her twitter handle, @obyezeks, Oby Ezekwesili, popular
referred to as Madam Due Process tweeted, “Three things cannot be sent on suspension: the sun, the moon, and the truth!” she further stated that, “I hope the President knows there is a dark cloud DISTRUSR in his suspension (of) Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria – Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.” She went ahead to say that, “For CBN Gov to be suspended when SERIOUS issues of “missing $2Billion” that he raised remain unresolved shows intolerance for accountability.” Concluding this round of tweets, she tweeted, “Possibly, Gov Sanusi of CBN may have issues to account for but his suspension at a time of PUBLIC ANGST at poor management of oil revenue by FG?

It appears the NNPC scam has claimed its first major casualty, ironically but not unexpected, the casualty is not one those behind the scam but the official bold enough to bring the issue to the notice of the general public. This will further cement the Jonathan administration as one where corruption has become the norm and impunity the order of the day.
