Turkey captures 11 commandos who tried to abduct Erdogan during the coup attempt

Turkish special forces have captured a group of rebel commandos for their alleged involvement in an attempt to kidnap President Tayyip Erdogan during the failed military coup. According to a government official, they were able to pinpoint the location of the 11 fugitive commandos in forested hills around the Mediterranean resort of
Marmaris, after a two-week manhunt involving around 1,000 members of the security forces.

The 11 soldiers are believed to be part of a group that raided a hotel in the south-western beach town of Marmaris, where Erdo─čan was holidaying with his family on the night of the July 15 coup bid. The president was however tipped off and fled before they arrived.
