Crime: Seun Egbegbe, asked to remain in prison by Federal High Court


Justice Oluremi Oguntoyinbo of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on Wednesday ordered Nollywood film marketer Olajide Oluwaseun Karrem popularly known as Seun Egbegbe and his co-accused, Oyekan Ayomide to be remanded in prison custody till next Tuesday when their bail applications would be entertained.

Egbegbe and his accomplice, Ayomide were last Friday arraigned before the court for allegedly defrauding some Bureau De Change (BDC) operators of multi-million naira.
The men of State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) of Lagos State Police Command, Panti-Yaba, had arraigned him and co-accused on 36 counts charge of conspiracy and fraud.

The operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested an 18-year old serial phone thief in Oshodi. The suspect, Sadeeq Wasiu, who had been imprisoned seven times, was re-arrested in Oshodi on Tuesday after several months of being on the operatives’ wanted list.


Wasiu, alias “Omo Eiye”, as he is popularly called in Oshodi was arrested at Oshodi Under Bridge while trying to escape after snatching an Infinix Note 3 from an undergraduate.

Crime: [Photo] Woman who killed her newborn baby in arrested in Ogun State


The Ogun Police Command has arrested the woman who killed her one-day old baby Wednesday morning at Sango Ota. LIB earlier reported that a woman was caught for killing her baby shortly after delivery. 

A statement issued on Wednesday, by Mr Abimbola Owoyemi, the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), said the woman identified as Foluke Owolewa, 40, was arrested after community leaders reported the incident was reported at Sango Police Divisional Headquarters.

Engineer Francis Tucker, is said to be constructing the first Helicopter in Sierra Leone. According to Sierra Loaded report, the helicopter project was initially designed for a year, but due to lack of funding, it’s almost eight years under construction. Four-year-old Lokoji Godwin Monday was abducted on Monday 13th January at Kadapa market Maraba Nassarawa state not far from the capital Abuja. Godwin was on his way back from school accompanied by his 9 year old older sister when they were accosted by a couple who said they liked the boys uniform and asked the sister to take them to the boys school which was just round the corner from their house.

Events: Governor of Ebonyi state gifts N500k to crippled man who was brutalized by soldiers, demands dismissal of the soldiers


The governor of Ebonyi state, Engr David Umahi has ordered the release of N500,000 to the Mr Chijoke Oraku who was brutalized by soldiers for wearing camouflage in Anambra state and also demanded the dismissal and prosecution of the two soldiers.
In a statement released by Ebonyi state Chief Press Secretary, Emma Anya, the governor said that the 21 days punishment given to soldiers was too mild and demanded their immediate dismissal from the force.

“I suggest to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.- Gen. Buratai, that those soldiers should be sacked from the army and be prosecuted immediately.” he said.

The Osun State Police Command on Monday, paraded the driver who killed a female student of Osun State University(UNIOSUN) Rofiat Damilola Adebisi.

Foreign Crime: Owner of a Ponzi Firm hiding in Nigeria for 3 years arrested in India


Tightening its screw on the multi-crore ponzi scam, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), India's premier law enforcement agency for the investigation of corruption cases, on Friday, February 3, arrested Mir Sahiruddin, managing director of Green Ray International Limited (GRIL) who was on the run for nearly three years.

A native of Balasore district, Sahiruddin was hiding with his family in Nigeria. He had entered India on Bangladesh passport by impersonating him as Ahmed Hussain and was arrested from Kolkata.

A Nigerian man who scammed hundreds of lonely U.S. women online was on Thursday, February 2, sentenced to 27 years in federal prison and ordered to repay $1.7 million, by U.S. District Judge David Herndon.
