[REAL LIFE EVENT] THE LOVE OF MY BROTHER

By Boluwatife Awokoya

I have a brother who is 3 years younger than me. I wanted to buy a handkerchief, which all  girls around me seemed to have. So, one day I stole 5 Kobo from my father's drawer. Father had discovered about the stolen money right away. He made me and my younger brother kneel against the wall as he held a bamboo stick in his hand. 'Who stole the money?' he asked. I was stunned, too afraid to talk. Neither of us admitted to the fault, so he said, 'Fine, if nobody wants to admit, you two should be beaten!' He lifted up the bamboo stick. Suddenly, my younger brother gripped father's hand and said, Papa, I was the one who did it!' The long stick smacked my brother's back repeatedly. Father was so angry that he kept on whipping my brother until he lost his breath. After that, he sat down on our stone bed and scolded my brother, 'You have learned to steal from your own house now. What other embarrassing things will you are

I AM DOWN TO EARTH WHEN IT COMES TO LOVING A WOMAN - OSITA IHEME A.K.A. PAWPAW

By Boluwatife Awokoya

Writing about a complex character like Osita Iheme, a.k.a.Paw Paw, could turn out to be a herculean task. Sometimes you think you know and, at some other times, you are completely flabbergasted seeing another side of an otherwise gentle, amusive, and intelligent octopus that he is. Much more important is the fact that, put into consideration that, here is a man whose life transcends every sphere of human endeavor from a humble beginning to becoming a public icon of all seasons, and rising from that pedestal to a juggernaut of no mean records in the very core areas of philanthropy, youth empowerment, social reform and poverty eradication. He speaks in an interview with our correspondent about his career as an actor, marriage and how he misses his close pal, Chinedu Ikedieze aka Aki. Excerpts:

I never knew I would get to this height in life. My intention was just to act and enjoy the career. I had always wanted to be an actor. I used to watch movies a lot and I would say to myself that one day, I would be an actor. In fact, my aim was to become an international actor.

Even in my days in church during our block rosary, I used to act a lot. I was a part of the drama group. I knew this was what I wanted to do. I always had the dream. I know that God has always had something special for me and whatever I touch becomes big. When I met my brother Chinedu, I knew we were going to be big. I knew that the combination of the two of us would be a blockbuster.

[PHOTOS] MEGA-RICH ARAB MEN SHOWS OFF THEIR STYLES...

By Oduwaiye Fela

Rich people in Nigeria show off their homes, cars, Rolex watches, etc...but mega-rich Arab men are on a different level. They are accessorising their super cars & powerboats with lions and cheetahs.
For mega-wealthy young men of the Gulf Arab states nothing says 'I am rich' more aptly than to Instagram yourself and your lion or cheetah posing alongside your Mercedes or Lamborghini or motoring along in a speedboat.
Showing off the Persian Gulf's latest 'ultimate status symbol', the penchant for posting big cat photos on Instagram betrays the young men's sheer bravado or stupidity, depending on your point of view. Indeed, while the intimacy on display the owners seem to share with their cats is clearly touching, others could possibly think of better ways to flaunt their wealth than sharing feeding time or bathing with fully grown 400pound lions.

HOW TO PREPARE YOUR DAUGHTER FOR PUBERTY CHANGES

By Oduwaiye Fela

Where did time go? It seems as if your daughter was climbing onto that school bus just yesterday. Now she's getting moody and growing up, you'll need to prepare her for what's going on in her body. Read on to find the best way to do it.

Be prepared. She will/may be starting her period soon so you need to have the products for it. Pads and/or panty liners are your best bet for her first few periods.

Teach her how to use these products. Make sure she knows where these products go, when to change them, and overall how to use them. Get some acne products. Some moisturizers and cleansers for her face. Teach her how to wash her face well without drying her face out. Try to get her in a habit of using these products.

Get her some bras. She is growing up and she might want a bra herself, but is embarrassed to ask. This gives her an open door to get one. Make sure to get one that fits and maybe help her the first time she wears one to school or until she gets the hang of it. This doesn't mean dress her like you did when she was younger, just help her latch it up in the back and tighten the straps if they fall or loosen them if they are too tight.

I SLEPT WITH 40 STRANGERS I MET ON FACEBOOK IN 2 YEARS

By Oduwaiye Fela

Alone in a hotel room with a man she'd met only half-an-hour earlier, Bunmi Thomson (aka Holla) knew it was too late to back out. For six months, the 19-year-old had been chatting online to 'AY' after meeting him on Facebook. As part of their virtual courtship, AY — who claimed to be 29 — lavished her with compliments and asked her to send increasingly provocative photos of herself. Desperate for his approval, she complied.

Now that he had paid Bunmi's transport fare to travel 200 miles to meet him, it was clear he expected her to have sex with him. And even though she didn't want to, she still went ahead.

Bunmi says: 'We'd been chatting for a few months and sent sexual messages to each other a few times so, although it seems so stupid now, real sex seemed like the obvious next step. But my first thought when I saw him was: “Oh God, he looks nothing like his picture.” He wasn't attractive and looked more like 40. But, still, we went straight to the hotel and had sex. I recall feeling nervous, but it was over quickly. 'Afterwards, he paid for the room and we said goodbye at the bus garage.

[SURVEY] BOKO HARAM; YESTERDAY, TODAY AND ?

By Oduwaiye Fela

Uprising was a conflict between Boko Haram, a militant Islamist group and Nigerian security forces. Violence across several states in northeastern Nigeria left over 1,000 dead, with around 700 killed in the city of Maiduguri alone, according to one military official.
A government inquiry later found that, while long-standing tensions existed between Boko Haram and the Nigerian Security forces, the immediate cause of the violence stemmed from an incident in which a group of the sect's members were stopped by police in the city of Maiduguri as they were on the way to the cemetery to bury a comrade. The officers, part of a special operation aimed at stamping out violence and rampant crime in Borno State, demanded that the young men comply with a law requiring motorcycle passengers to wear helmets.
They refused and, in the confrontation that followed, several were shot and wounded by police. According to initial media reports the violence began on 26 July, 2009 when Boko Haram launched an attack on a police station in Bauchi state, with clashes between militants and the Nigeria Police Force spreading to Kano, Yobe and Borno soon after.
However President Umaru Yar'Adua disputed this version of events, claiming that government security forces had struck first. “I want to emphasize that this is not an inter-religious crisis and it is not the Taliban group that attacked the security agents first, no. It was as a result of a security information gathered on their intention to launch a major attack,'' he said.

THE FIVE RICHEST PASTORS IN NIGERIA TO WATCH BY 2015

By Oduwaiye Fela

God is good, especially if you're a Nigerian pastor with some business savvy. These days, millions of souls, desperate for financial breakthroughs, miracles and healing, all rush to the church for redemption. And while the bible expressly states that salvation is free, at times it comes with a cost: offerings, tithes, gifts to spiritual leaders, and a directive to buy literature and other products created by men of God.

Pastors are no longer solely interested in getting people to Heaven; they've devised intelligent ways to make good money while reaching out to souls. Take Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, for example. He is the founder and lead pastor of the Christ Embassy, a thriving congregation with branches in Nigeria, South Africa, London, Canada and the United States. His publishing company, Loveworld Publications, publishes 'Rhapsody of Realities,' a monthly devotional he co-authors with his wife. It sells over 2 million copies every month at $1 apiece. He also owns television stations, newspapers, magazines, a hotel, a fast-food chain, and more.
Many other Nigerian pastors are similarly building multi-million dollar empires from their churches. Today, pastors fly around in private jets, drive fancy cars like Daimlers, Porsches and BMWs, don Rolexes and Patek Phillipes, and own breathtaking mansions all over the world. Below are the five richest pastors in Nigeria who will make times two of what they have this year:
