I never knew vandalising pipelines is a criminal offence - 30yr-old suspect


A 30 year old suspected member of a syndicate vandalising pipelines of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Jamiu Ajani, said yesterday he did not know selling petrol obtained from vandalized pipelines was a crime.

The syndicate was intercepted by the task force at Owode area of Ikorodu in a Chevrolet truck, while transporting the stolen products to buyers in various parts of Lagos State.
Ajani was arrested alongside his accomplices, Demola Lawrence and Raymond, by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Special Task Force on Pipeline Vandalism, which recovered 300 units of 50-litre jerry cans loaded with premium motor spirit, PMS, from them.

CBN bars foreign firms from printing cheques for Nigerian banks

The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has denied accreditation to foreign printers who hitherto printed cheque books for some Nigerian banks. In a circular released, yesterday, entitled: “Circular to deposit money banks, cheque printers and other stakeholders on the accreditation of cheque printers for 2015/2016″ and signed by Director, Banking and Payment Systems Department, Dipo Fatokun, the Central bank said it has duly notified all accredited printers and issued certificates to them.

ISIS executes 19 girls for refusing to have sex with fighters

According to reports, ISIS members executed 19 women for refusing to have sex with its fighters. A Kurdish official claimed that the women were being held hostage in Mosul, Iraq, when they were rounded up and shot dead this week for refusing to be sex slaves to ISIS fighters.

Another Lecturer rapes 18- year-old female seeking admission in Unilag

Kaiser Carlile, the bat boy for the Liberal Bee Jays summer baseball team in Liberal, Kansas, was struck in the head with a bat as a player took practice swings during a game against the San Diego Waves on Saturday August 1st. Nigerian Deposit Money Banks on Monday continued with the policy of naming and shaming their delinquent debtors with further publication of the names of firms and their directors whose loans have become non-performing for more than one year.

While nine banks published the names of the loans defaulters on Monday, four banks released the lists of their chronic debtors, owing a total of N143.81bn, on Tuesday. The four banks are First Bank of Nigeria Limited, Access Bank Plc, Diamond Bank Plc and Unity Bank Plc.
