Two men arrested with 14 sacks containing fake ballot papers in Kano

The Kano Police Command says it has arrested two suspects in possession of 14 bags of fake ballot papers in Kano state.

Spokesperson of the command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, who disclosed this to newsmen, said the suspects were arrested with the fake ballot papers around Metro Police Area Command on Wednesday night, February 13th.

6 Yahoo Boys arrested in Lagos State

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, has arrested six members of a syndicate of Internet fraudsters at the Iyana Era, Badagry area of Lagos State.

The suspects, Samuel Ndubisi, Samuel Gaza Tanko, Efe Godwin Okoye, Onyekachi Emanuel, Sari Isaac Felix and Ahmed Quadri, were arrested during a sting operation carried out by operatives of the Commission on February 13, 2019.

Assailants suspected to be political thugs have murdered a middle-aged man close at a ghetto area in Ibadan, leaving his severed body close to a popular joint in the area.
The man, said to have been murdered overnight of Wednesday, at Asaka, along Gege area at Ibadan surburb, was found with his head cut off, genitals and intestines removed at the location where his body was dropped. See full photo below.

On Saturday, February 16, 2019, you will, once again, be called upon to choose the leaders who will pilot the affairs of our great nation for the next four years. This is a constitutional right which should be freely exercised by all eligible voters.

A young man was on Monday, stoned to death by a mob at the Modern Market area of Makurdi, Benue State capital.

Containers carrying card readers for Saturday's election in Anambra gutted by fire

Two container loads of election materials caught fire at the INEC office close to the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, the state capital this on Tuesday afternoon, February 12th.

Alowonle Asekun, the Treasurer of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Jibowu-Yaba Branch was killed by hoodlums in the Grammar School area of the Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State last week.

Another 7 people lost their lives at APC rally in Rivers State

 

No fewer than 7 persons lost their lives in a stanmpede that happened at the APC Presidential rally in Rivers state today Tuesday, February 12th.

The rally which held at the Adokiye Amasiamaka Stadium Portharcourt, had more occupants than it could contain. As the crowd began to spill out of the stadium, a stampede ensued and seven persons were counted dead after the situation was brought under control.

Real Estate Developer, Bababunmi Akinyemi murdered in Ogun State

 

The Ogun state police command is currently investigating the alleged murder of a real estate developer, Bababunmi Akinyemi, in the Mowe area of the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State of February 1st.

According to the police, Akinyemi was allegedly lured to his site at Peace Estate, opposite the Redemption Camp off the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, where he was killed and his body dumped in the bush by his killers.

A yet to be identified man was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Ikorodu, Lagos state today February 8th.

Obinna Udoji, FUT Minna Graduate bags one year jail term for $9,654 fraud

 

EFCC has secured the conviction of Obinna Udoji, a graduate of the Department of Building Technology, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State, for a $9,654 fraud.

He was arrested by operatives of the EFCC on January 7, 2019 following intelligence report that he fraudulently obtained money from one Alina Ruso, which he claimed was to be invested in a company, Zenith Margin, which turned out to be false. He was subsequently arraigned before Justice A.O. Onovo of an Enugu State High Court, for the offence of obtaining money by false pretence, to which he pleaded “guilty”.

HND graduates can’t rise above grade level 14 in civil service - FG

 

The Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Winifred Oyo-Ita, has said that HND graduates cannot rise above level 14 except such a person acquires an additional degree for his or her conversion to officer cadre that terminates at Grade Level 17.

Oyo-Itra made the clarification while briefing newsmen on some of the achievements of her office under the Change Agenda 2015-2018.

Ambode insists no road would be blocked for President Buhari’s visit

 

Following the apprehension that has greeted the scheduled visit of President Buhari for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential rally on Saturday, the Lagos State Government has re-assured residents that there would be no road closures as earlier announced.

Briefing journalists at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre in Alausa, the State’s Commissioner for Transportation, Ladi Lawanson said the earlier statement announcing diversion and road closure had been reviewed, adding that residents were free to go about their businesses.

Two men executed in Yemen for for aledgedly raping and murdering a 12-year-old boy

 

Two men who abducted, raped and murdered a 12-year-old boy have been executed in public.
Rapists, Wadah Refat, 28, and Mohamed Khaled, 31, were shot in the back on Thursday in the port city of Aden in Yemen as hundreds gathered to watch.
