Foreign News: Man dies after he fell 20ft down the stairs and his rib pierced his heart


Boguslaw Piekos, 32, has died after he fell 20ft down the stairs and his heart was pierced by his broken rib. Piekos was drunk - three times over the speed limit - when he slipped, fell and shattered several ribs before landing on a shoe rack.

The polish born man had shared a bottle of vodka with his flatmate then visited a friend in Reading where he drank some more until the early hours of the morning. He was on is way to the toilet when the tragic fall occurred.

A young man identified as Chinedu Peter, was allegedly shot and killed by a Police Officer, on his way from an eatery with his girlfriend. The police officer identified as Ibe Uchenna, shot Chinedu in front of Christ the King Cathedral (C.K.C) Asa road, Aba after their vehicle was stopped. According to the Facebook user who shared the story on his wall, after he was shot, he asked the police officers to take him to the hospital, the Police Officers took Chinedu away from the scene but rather than take him to the hospital, they dumped him by a roadside where they thought his body wont be found. Press Release: Public Health Emergency in Queens College, Lagos, Students advised not to return to school


This is a public announcement made by the President General, Unity Schools students association, CHIDI ANSELM ODINKALU, in regards to the number of students who have been sick, two of whom have died, due to the contaminated water sources in the school which contain various forms of E-Coli, and Salmonella, among other dangerous pathogens. The Lagos State Ministry of Health has since shut down the school till further notice.

34-year-old Carla Murtagh from Birmingham took her life just weeks after discovering she was pregnant with her eighth child. The mother of seven who was battling depression had booked an appointment to have an abortion but changed her mind and decided to keep the baby. Nine days later, she told her husband, Matthew, she wanted to go upstairs and no one was to disturb her.

News: Chuck Berry, Rock 'n' Roll Pioneer dies at 90


Rock 'n' roll founder, Chuck Berry who defined its joy and rebellion in "Johnny B. Goode" and other classics, has died in St. Charles County, Missouri at the age of 90. St. Charles county police say they responded to a medical emergency on Saturday afternoon and found Berry unresponsive. He could not be revived and was pronounced dead on the spot at 1:26pm on Saturday. Berry hit the Top 10 in 1955 with "Maybellene" and went on to influence generations of musicians.

Berry, whose full name was Charles Edward Anderson Berry Sr. is known for songs like Roll Over Beethoven and Sweet Little Sixteen. 

Foreign Crime: Ghana man arrested for allegedly killing his boss and burning the body


A young man identified as Vanwood Kofi Asante has been arrested for allegedly killing his boss, Samuel Kwabena Poku in the Ga West municipality of the Greater Accra Region. 

The suspect, who is in the Custody of the Ministries Police Station and appeared before the court on Friday March 17, 2017 has accordingly confessed to killing Mr. Poku, 60.

Foreign News: U.S. Immigration arrests 86 foreigners including Nigerian man convicted for sexual assault


A total of 86 foreign nationals were arrested last week in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska during a three-day targeted enforcement operation conducted by U.S.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement aimed at immigration fugitives, re-entrants and at-large criminal aliens.

Of the 86, 52 had prior criminal convictions and 23 had been previously removed from the country and subsequently illegally re-entered, according to a release from the Department of Homeland Security.

News: [Graphic] Suicide bombers attack Borno leaving 4 people dead


Four people including a mother and her two children were killed yesterday night March 18th, when three suicide bombers, (two teenagers and an adult,) attacked umarari village of mulai community in Jere LG of Borno State.

One Civilian JTF was also killed while eight people were injured. All the casualties were evacuated to Borno State specialist hospital by the NEMA ERT and SEMA . The remains of the three suicide bombers were also deposited at the mortuary of the hospital.
