Police officers who ran over man in handcuff are facing disciplinary charges - IGP

 


The Acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has disbanded the Technical Police Team that ran a vehicle over a man in handcuffs in Edo State. The incident which was caught on camera occurred in Ekpoma area the state last Thursday, June 29, 2023. In the video, the handcuffed middle-aged man is seen lying on a road while a police vehicle ran over him.

Suspected ritualist arrested in Akwa Ibom for possession of a human skull


The state Commissioner of Police, CP Olatoye Durosinmi, disclosed that a suspected ritualist was arrested for possession of a human skull during a press briefing at the command headquarters in Ikot Akpan Abia, Uyo on Friday.

I wont tolerate abuse of office, corruption and community policing must work - IGP Egbetokun

 


New Police Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun has vowed to make community policing work.

The new police boss assumed office at the Police Force Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, June 21 taking over the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force from retired IGP Usman Baba.

IGP Egbetokun warned police officers that he won’t tolerate abuse of office, corruption and misconduct adding that the salaries of constables are already being looked into and will be paid by month end.
