The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Hammed Ali, has directed all officers and men of the Nigeria Customs Service to declare their assets within 14 days. Please help!!! I was raped by a NYSC friend - Corper

A Corps member says she was raped by another corper friend she trusted recently. Read her story below...

I would like to report a rape case. I considered going to the police but I'm sure the rapist might be able to pay his way out and no action will be taken. I'm a youth corper serving in Ondo state. On the 8th of January this year, I traveled to Edo State with a fellow corper whom I trusted very much. We were friends in camp and fortunately we got posted to the same local government, so it seemed like it was a plan arranged by heaven. So on the evening of Jan. 8th, we were in his friends room off campus and I slept off watching a movie on his laptop. Some time later I woke up and found him touching me.

I resisted and he forced himself on me the first time. Although I tried fighting him off the first time, he easily overpowered me because of his size. After the first time, I cried for a while while he apologised profusely. Because I didn't have anywhere to run to and he held me down, he had his way the second time and didn't even bother apologising or anything. He just slept off and woke up begging and begging. I searched online for places I could report rape cases to that weren't the police, but I didn't see any.

The guy is Serving in Odigbo Local Government, Ore, Ondo State. Batch B, Stream 2. He is a UNIBEN alumni and was a past SUG president and is popular in the school. I want justice to be exerted promptly. I think his father has a military background which could pose a problem. I would like to remain anonymous where ever this letter is used as my parents would be furious if they found out I left my PPA to attend a wedding in Edo State.

Readers, what do you advice this lady does?

Chinese Mine owner commits suicide after deadly collapse of mine

The owner of Chinese gypsum mine that collapsed Friday, killing one worker and leaving two dozen others trapped, committed suicide early Sunday, China's state-run news service reported. The news service, Xinhua, identified the owner as Ma Congbo.

Ma was president of Yurong Commerce and Trade Ltd. Co. and owner of the mine in Shangdong Province, south of Bejing, the Associated Press reported.  Ma was working alongside hundreds of rescue workers when, at 2 a.m., he leaped into a well and drowned, according to the AP and Xinhua.

The collapse came just days after a massive man-made landside in Shenzen killed one person and left 75 other people missing. After similar safety disasters, company officials are typically subject to severe punishment.

75% of fuel in Nigeria will still be imported in 2016 - NNPC

Group Managing Director NNPC and Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, during his tour of Kaduna Refinery and Petrochemical Company, KRPC, yesterday, said the country will still rely on 75 per cent importation of fuelthroughout the whole of next year.

According to him:
“The future is that, Nigeria is still going to import fuel in 2016 and beyond. Best case situation is 25 per cent local and 75 per cent importation. Worse case is what
we are experiencing now".

“Until we begin to get individuals who can co-relocate, we are going to be doing a mixture of local and importation of fuel to meet up demands. In the next few weeks, however, queues will disappear in fuel stations.”

The minister said that the Kaduna refinery will soon be producing more than two million litres per day capacity as soon as an Fluid Catalytic Cracking, FCC, unit is fully on stream.

He said:
“We need to get it back to re-kit it to work well. We will do that with some level of production going on. Our concern is to have a consistent production and provision of products at all times.”

“We will not be fluctuating prices, we will take an average. Today no subsidy, in January we will look at the situation and announce it.”

In regards to privatization, he said:
“President Muhammadu Buhari has not approved any policy about selling the refineries.”
