Under overcast skies that threatened to rain any minute, South Africans draped in flags and images of Nelson Mandela gathered on the streets to sing and dance.

HOW TO LOSE WEIGHT WITHOUT DIETING

By Yemi Oyedele

While there are plenty of fad diets that may help you lose weight, they also leave you feeling hungry and food-deprived. For all those who don't have the time or inclination to undertake a crash diet or even hit the gym, we've got some great news. If you want to slim down the healthy and painless way, try the following strategies. After all, it's not what you eat but how you eat.

CHEW MORE, EAT LESS: Studies show that the longer time you spend chewing, the lesser calories you consume. Chewing for longer prevents over-eating, by giving the brain more time to receive signals from the stomach that it is full. It is not only great for digesting, but it also helps in limiting your portion size. Try chewing your food 35 to 50 times per mouthful.

By Oduwaiye Fela

(CNN) -- Four days after the crash that killed actor Paul Walker and his friend and financial manager Roger Rodas, big questions remain unanswered, including:

Did anything go wrong with the vehicle?
The Porsche Carrera GT the two men were in has three times the horsepower of the average car. It's powered by a V-10, 610-horsepower engine. At $450,000 new, it flies down the road and is notoriously difficult to handle.

A top driver has called the car "scary," Autoweek magazine reported.
Rodas was the sixth owner of this one, the magazine said.

[PHOTO] REASONS BEHIND BURNA BOY BEING BANNED FROM ENTERING UK FOR 15 YEARS

By Boluwatife Awoks

According to a reliable source, singer Burna Boy was part of a gang that stabbed someone to death in the UK in 2010.

See it below...
'Burna Boy’s ‘uncontrollable’ mannerism and persona didn’t just start yesterday; NET investigations and sources have linked him to a criminal past, a period of his life he would rather not make public knowledge.

We are told on good authority that while in the UK back in 2010, Burna Boy was arrested by London Police for allegedly being part of a gang and stabbing someone to death. He was tried as a minor and sent to jail.

After 11 months, he was released and given two months parole plus community service on the grounds of being of ‘good behaviour’. But Burna is said to have disobeyed authorities and travelled back to Nigeria where he signed a record deal with Aristokrat.

He later travelled back to the UK but was arrested at the airport and deported to Nigeria. He is currently barred from the UK for the next 15 years.'

WHY T.B. JOSHUA'S CHURCH 'THE SYNAGOGUE' IS THE MOST VISITED IN AFRICA

By Boluwatife Awokoya

Apart from the 120 different nationals of Caucasoid, Mongoloid and Negroid descent, who live and work at The Synagogue Church of all Nations, thousands also throng this wonder on earth every week to behold the man in The Synagogue, Prophet T.B Joshua.

It is from these nationals that the four “wise men”, namely, Wiseman Harry from Greece, Wiseman Racine Bousso from Senegal, Wiseman Christopher Orji from Nigeria and Wiseman Daniel Emelandu, also from Nigeria, emerged as subordinates, but equally anointed men of God to Prophet Joshua.

This move is seen worldwide as one of the biggest achievements of the church apart from the miracles which even the Wisemen perform. And till date, the church remains a spectacle in Nigeria.

By Yemi Oyedele, South-West/South-South Correspondent

One of the biggest supporters and kinsman of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, has declared that the president has lost the support of his political base, the South-South and the South-East owing to the failure of his government to deliver on its promises.

Dokubo-Asari, at a press conference in Abuja on Friday, said that it would be tough for Jonathan to win the presidential election in 2015 if he decides to run based on the poor showing of his administration.
He said that his decision to speak out was for him and others who are ardent supporters of Jonathan not to be blamed for his failure in 2015.

He said: “I want to start with an Ijaw proverb, which says: the eyes watched its seven children to death. Instead of advising them, it was just looking at them until they died, while the mouth talked its only child to life and success. “We have continued as Ijaw people and the entire Niger Delta and South-South to support the presidency of President Goodluck Jonathan, but a time has come when silence cannot be golden. [REAL LIFE EVENT] THE LOVE OF MY BROTHER

By Boluwatife Awokoya

I have a brother who is 3 years younger than me. I wanted to buy a handkerchief, which all  girls around me seemed to have. So, one day I stole 5 Kobo from my father's drawer. Father had discovered about the stolen money right away. He made me and my younger brother kneel against the wall as he held a bamboo stick in his hand. 'Who stole the money?' he asked. I was stunned, too afraid to talk. Neither of us admitted to the fault, so he said, 'Fine, if nobody wants to admit, you two should be beaten!' He lifted up the bamboo stick. Suddenly, my younger brother gripped father's hand and said, Papa, I was the one who did it!' The long stick smacked my brother's back repeatedly. Father was so angry that he kept on whipping my brother until he lost his breath. After that, he sat down on our stone bed and scolded my brother, 'You have learned to steal from your own house now. What other embarrassing things will you are

I AM DOWN TO EARTH WHEN IT COMES TO LOVING A WOMAN - OSITA IHEME A.K.A. PAWPAW

By Boluwatife Awokoya

Writing about a complex character like Osita Iheme, a.k.a.Paw Paw, could turn out to be a herculean task. Sometimes you think you know and, at some other times, you are completely flabbergasted seeing another side of an otherwise gentle, amusive, and intelligent octopus that he is. Much more important is the fact that, put into consideration that, here is a man whose life transcends every sphere of human endeavor from a humble beginning to becoming a public icon of all seasons, and rising from that pedestal to a juggernaut of no mean records in the very core areas of philanthropy, youth empowerment, social reform and poverty eradication. He speaks in an interview with our correspondent about his career as an actor, marriage and how he misses his close pal, Chinedu Ikedieze aka Aki. Excerpts:

I never knew I would get to this height in life. My intention was just to act and enjoy the career. I had always wanted to be an actor. I used to watch movies a lot and I would say to myself that one day, I would be an actor. In fact, my aim was to become an international actor.

Even in my days in church during our block rosary, I used to act a lot. I was a part of the drama group. I knew this was what I wanted to do. I always had the dream. I know that God has always had something special for me and whatever I touch becomes big. When I met my brother Chinedu, I knew we were going to be big. I knew that the combination of the two of us would be a blockbuster.
