Recently, the Oyo State Police Command, Eleyele in Ibadan has paraded two suspects who allegedly killed a 42-year old woman, Mrs. Sekinat Emiola.
One of the suspects, Asimiyu Ayantayo, the lover of the deceased allegedly beheaded her and cut off her two hands after making love with her. Ayantayo who hailed from Ibadan is a carpenter and also married with children. He told our correspondent that, that faithful day he told his wife that he would not be coming home that night that he will be going out with his friend Isiaka (his accomplice in crime) to a party and they won't be back not until the following day. Not known to him that his plan will end up in police station he left his loving home to a guest house with his friend and deceased.
According to him, his friend was outside in the bar of the guest house enjoying. Ayantayo, after love-making with the deceased that night, she complained of tiredness and said she wanted water. He then called his friend to help him with a bottle of water after which she drank and possibly, under the spell of Magun, somersaulted and died. He said he suspected that Magun had been placed on the deceased by her husband that she died of the killer charm (Magun).
Our correspondent then asked why he beheaded her after she died of Magun, he said he did not know what came over him and never wanted to use her for rituals but to make it impossible for residents in the area to identify her. His friend never knew what had befell the decease but he told his friend to help him get a sack and a cutlass that he wanted to use it for something. He said: “She was my mistress. I contacted Magun on her during love-making. After she drank the water I gave her, she wanted to somersault but I helped her. Then, after sometime, she started vomiting and she fell down from the chair, started rolling on the ground and eventually she died. It was then I went out to meet my friend and told him to help me with a bag and cutlass.” When his friend had brought those items he then went inside and beheaded her and cut off her two hands. “I don't need the body parts for anything and I did nothing with it.” He lamented.
His accomplice, Mr. Isiaka Akanbi, a native of Taki, Oyo State, denied involvement in the act, saying his friend only sent him to buy a sack for him but did not know the purpose for which he needed it. He said although they both went to the guest house but Ayantayo was the only one that went inside with the deceased and he was at the bar drinking that night the incident happen.
The parade of the suspects attracted many sympathizers at Eleyele area who thronged the State Police headquarters to catch the glimpse of the suspect and the gory picture of head and the hands that were severed by the suspects.
Speaking with our correspondent on the incident, the Oyo State Police Commissioner said one of the workers of the guest house alerted the police about a headless body dumped in the garbage bin of the guest house. After investigation, the body was traced to the two suspects and they were arrested by the police with the head and hand of the deceased. “They will be charge to court very soon after proper investigations”. He said.
