Meeting Him:
My name is Oladipupo Clement, I am the convener of The Gameplan Mega Summit 2016. The programme started 5 years ago and we are marking the 5th Year Anniversary today.
About the event and the expectation of the attendants:
The Gameplan project started with a goal to raise A minimum of 120,000 Multimillionaires in 10 years. The desire we had was because we hate seeing people poor and we dislike poverty. The environment we live in now, we observed that poverty, unemployment and homelessness is very dominant. So this are part of the critical issues we will be addressing today and to focus more on entrepreneurship.
What we have today is entrepreneurship summit and we have an array of speakers like Dr. Olumide Emmanuel, my main mentor, who will be talking on How to profit with your passion and why business fail & how to mitigate it; Eizu Uwaoma, who will also talk on The laws of business success; Dele Aina, to talk on Business skill for the 21st century and finally, myself to talk on The spirit of entrepreneurship.
We are living in a very critical period where people don't know what the future holds and we believe that this event will address some of those critical issues. Unemployment, in my view cannot be eradicated, it can only be minimized, and that will only be possible if the people no longer depend on the government or society to provide them with jobs but create one for themselves. The government are not the one to address the issue of unemployment in the society, but the people who builds the economy. The job of the government is to create an enabling environment, formulate policies, legislate laws that governs the people and to ensure that businesses are going to thrive.
Once we can multiply the numbers of entrepreneurs in Nigeria, we will reduce the numbers of unemployment. The school system is not designed to package and prepare people to create jobs but to produce job seekers and that will not help the economy of this country. The government seems to be the highest spender of money, when government reduces expenses, it affects the economy and there will be illiquidity in the system. But if the small businesses and individuals are empowered to create jobs, there wont be illiquidity even when government reduces expenses infact government will have more money because people are succeeding in business.
The event was filled filled to the brim and some of the attendants also won themselves gifts. Five people went home with cheques of N100,000.00 each and two people won a plot of land each.
