Crime: Court sentence Delta state judiciary staff to death

A Delta State High court sitting in Ughelli has sentenced to death by hanging one Narebor Stephen Donbrapade, a 49-year-old judiciary staff in the state,  for stabbing his flatmate’s wife, Stella Avwenayerhe to death at their home in Otobo Street, Ughelli in January 2013.
According to reports, Stephen and Stella's husband rented a three bedroom apartment together. Stella moved in with her husband and they all lived in the apartment.

On the day of the incident, Stella reportedly reprimanded Stephen for walking on the rug in their living room with his shoes on. This reportedly got Stephen angry. They had an
altercation and he afterwards dashed into his room, came out with a knife and stabbed the deceased in the chest. She was rushed to the Ughelli Central Hospital where she was confirmed dead. Stephen was arrested and was charged to court for murder.

At the hearing of the case last week, he pleaded not guilty. The presiding judge, Justice F.O. Owgo, found him guilty. According to Justice Owho, the accounts and evidence provided by four prosecuting witnesses including the husband of the deceased, proved he is guilty of the crime.
