Ministry of Special Duties Report
The feat recorded by the Federal
Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs under the
leadership of Kabiru Tanimu Turaki as the Minister has been commended by
the Commissioner for Inter-Governmental Affairs in Kaduna State,
Husaini Abdu as worthy of emulation.
Governmental Affairs in Abuja recently; saying his visit was in homage to him and an opportunity to draw from his experiences on ways to improve on the activities of the Ministry of Inter-Governmental Affairs in Kaduna State.
He said further that the Federal Ministry had in the past one year achieved a lot as confirmed by the media, stating that his decision to visit the Minister for possible ways of linking Kaduna State to donor agencies locally and internationally was based on this, to bring more development to the State.
In his response at the occasion, the Minister described the inter-governmental relations function in Kaduna State as ‘legendary’ and stressed the need for the Commissioner to interface with the three arms of government in the state, in order to bring meaningful developments to the people.
The Minister said: ‘for us at the federal level, we have been interfacing with the three tiers of government and also the three arms of government to ensure that people get value for governance in the country’. He also disclosed that the ministry has ensured the implementation of about 85% of such projects in the 2013 appropriation following the directive of the President. Adding, the ministry is monitoring the implementation of constituency projects in the country for probable 100% implementation by the end of the first quarter of 2014.
According to him, since assumption of office as the Minister, the Ministry has embarked on a number of seminars and conferences and has participated in two international conferences which were geared towards promoting the goals of the Transformation Agenda of Government across the country.
Tanimu Turaki promised that the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs’ is ready to assist the Kaduna State Ministry of Inter-governmental Affairs to interface with local and international agencies which are capable of helping their efforts to transform the State.
